Down the track a bit.

Well a whole 5 months has passed since my last post in this blog but as I'm posting in Edublogs for teaching reflection I don't feel one bit guilty.

I have just sent off the last assignments for what may be my last ACE tutor session as they are discontinuing the course with UKZN. What next? I'd love to say more time but knowing me I'll fill the space in no time at all.

The biggest stressor in my life at the moment is my 84 year old Dad who has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's. The past three years have been difficult as his behaviour has alienated people within his family and now he is confused and forgetful. He will ask the same question repeatedly and is obsessive about family visiting him. He wants someone to visit every day of the week. It's very difficult as nothing is good enough for him. So where do we go from here? There is a possible move to an Alzheimer's specific facility but there are considerations there.

So, it's a cold and windy night; a toasty fire is burning in the grate; I have some dark chocolate in front of me and my eyelids are drooping. Goodnight.

Christmas 2008

Well here we are back in PE after a fantastic two weeks in KZN. It was a great holiday. Thank you Gareth, Linda and Tannie Jannie for giving us a memorable time. I love sushi!! Thanks Jan.

I am going to post a few photos of our time together.
Tannie Jannie was in good form on Christmas day. She found this great hat and introduced us all to "Cassandra" her new door stop. Gareth, Linda and Mark has great fun playing with Jozi the labrador cross in the pool ( they couldn't keep her out!)
